WHO has declared this virus as pandemic in January this year. That is altogether different thing that what was Who's response and what was China's response to this virus. But we would discuss the india's strategy regarding this situation. On 22 march India has declared a nationwide janta curfew in whole country and after one day, the government has declared a nationwide lockdown without any prior notice. Lockdown was declared for three weeks in initial stages and after that it was being moved forward. In the beginning prime minister has said that we have to live in lockdown for 21 days otherwise our country will loss 21 years.
Prime minister has not been able to form a clear cut policy to combat from this virus. He does not make an all party meeting in this issue. He has even not accepted that first case of corona in the country came in January Infact he has said that first case of corona virus came in India in March, this is other thing that first case in kerala has been appeared in January this year and let me tell you that kerala is in India.
Now we are hearing regularly on TV that government has allowed travel and transport in the country and the next day we hear that ticket booking has been opened and the next day we come to know that agencies are cancelling booked tickets. So we can say that government has not been able to make a clearcut policy.
Labours are walking continuously because government is in confusion and it is saying that if whole labours have been migrated from cities to villages then on the opening of lockdown, there will be no labours in the city to work. Although it leads to boundage labour and government is saying continuously that now lockdown will open, now lockdown will open and waiting for opening of lockdown now have passed two months so labours have no choice but to return home to make their livings.
Although first case of Corona has been reported in kerala on 20 January, it has been emerged as a model to combat virus for the rest of the country. So question is that why our central government not taking the expertise of kerala government to combat this deadly virus.
Government's stimulus package- it has been called as stimulus package although it was reform agenda which could be declared in the budget, the government announced that it is giving 10% of gdp as stimulus that amounts to 20 lakh crore but it is proved to be a reform agenda.
Next question is that if there was only solution lockdown if government has analysed the implications of lockdown, would government not make other arrangements like increase testing facility. So these are the major questions that government have to answer.
